Rabies Clinic & Microchip day
Time: 1-3pm
Details: Rabies Clinic & Microchip Day The Bastrop County Animal Shelter will provide a rabies clinic and microchip day on Saturday, March 20, from 1-3 pm. The clinic will be held at the Shelter, 589 Cool Water Drive in Lake Bastrop Acres (take Hwy 95 north approximately 8 miles, turn right on Pershing, then left on Cool Water). Rabies shots are $8 and other shots are available at discount prices. Microchips are $6 if pet is neutered and $25 if not. Please bring pets on a leash or in a carrier. Tween Youth Group journal making party
Time: 9:00 AM
Details: First United Methodist Church Bastrop, Fellowship Hall. The Tween Youth Group service project is "Children Helping Children" to benefit the Bastrop County Children's Advocacy Center. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the center has requested at least 140 journals for the children that come to their center. On April 10th The Tween Youth Group will host a journal making party to decorate journal covers to be donated to the CAC. All are welcome to come help the Tweens make the Journal covers!

Animal Shelter Open House
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Details: Bastrop,Texas – A record number of animals were adopted last year at the Friends’ Animal Shelter Open House. This year the hope is to set another new record. On Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 11a to 3p, the Bastrop County Animal Shelter will be host to law enforcement demonstrations, animals to be petted and adopted, vendors with giveaways, fun activities for kids and much more. Relay for Life Bastrop/Smithville
Time: 6pm
Details: Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society. Event held at Erhardt Field in Bastrop on May 14th and 15th. This is an overnight event in which teams walk laps around the field to raise donations for the American Cancer Society. Fundraising is currently going on now through the event.
