With the new offense still being perfected, the Bastrop Bears had to play defense too long and failed to score in a 30-0 loss to Vista Ridge. With 4 lost fumbles at crucial times the Rangers gained control of the game. The first score came on a 28 yd field goal by P.J. Grady. This was followed by a 2 yd run by Stedman Mayberry, who ended up with 138 yds rushing for the game. This gave Vista Ridge a 10-0 lead after one quarter. After another turnover, the Rangers scored on a 1 yd run by Leland Dunn. The half time scoring ended with another 44 FG by P.J. Grady and a 20-0 lead. The Bears came back after the half with a 35 yard pass from Luke Griego to Izaiyah Washington which gave the ball to Bastrop inside the 20 yard line. The Bears were unable to score after a 4th down try failed. On their next possession Paul Whitmill got a 22 yard run for another threat, but the Bears fumbled again. The 3rd period ended 20-0. In the final period, Leland Dunn threw a 32 yd td pass to Tyler Zieman giving Vista Ridge a 27-0 lead. Scoring ended with another FG by P.J. Grady with the final score 30-0 in favor of Vista Ridge.
