Austin Maroons defeated the Bastrop Bears 34-0 and ended the Bears season with a record of 3 wins-7 losses. It was a disappointing loss in the season finale. Austin recovered two fumbles and intercepted 3 passes. Bastrop’s Dentray Washington gained 137 yards, but the Bears reached the Austin 20 yard line only once. Austin started the scoring after a 42 yard pass interception. The score came on a 1 yard run by Davis Collins. Austin scored again on a 12 yard pass from Cameron Jones to Trey Cannon. The first period ended 14-0. Austin scored again on a 5 yard run by Collins and the half ended 21-0. The 3rd quarter went scoreless. Austin next scored on a 27 yard run by Mychal Dungey and on the last play of the game Chris Young scored on a 68 yard pass interception and the game ended 34-0. Austin led in 1st downs 17-10, and passing yards 135-38. The Bears led in rushing 173-159. Dentray Washington finished the season with an outstanding 1,536 yards on 191 carries for the season.
