Bastrop Bounces back in 42-15 win!


The Bastrop Bears defeated the Del Valle Cardinals 42-15 in a game marking the return of Rashon Ward. After being out for weeks with an injury, Ward returned to score 3 touchdowns with runs of 25, 3, and 11 yards. He gained 90 yards in 10 carries while playing only in the first half. The Bears scored on its first 5 possessions and led 35-7 at halftime. Jacob Johnson passed to Dustin Haywood for a 57 touchdown for the first score. Ricky Lincoln was the leading rusher for the Bears with 134 yards on 21 carries. The Bears record improved to 4-2, and 1-1 in District play. Homecoming game is next week at Erhard Field when the Bears meet the Lockhart Lions in a district game.
