The San Marcos Rattlers defeated the Bastrop Bears 42-21 at Erhard Field Friday, September 12th. The Rattlers rolled up 469 yards rushing on 53 carries against a young Bear defense that returned only one starter. It was Bastrop’s third loss of the year. The Bears offense showed improvement with Dominique Moore catching four passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns. Maurice Jones had 93 yards rushing on 9 carries and Ryan Lincoln had 66 yards on 14 carries. The Bears Jacob Johnson passed for 157 yards to 23 for San Marcos. The halftime score was 28-14 in favor of San Marcos. The Bears showing improvement hope to regroup when they meet LBJ of Austin in an 8:30 p.m. game in Austin on Friday, September 19th.
